Some films made by Paul Strand are the obvious example that good pictures do not make a good film or those made by Henri CartierBresson are simply documentaries and one would say not particularly successful. While on the other hand very few directors tried their luck in artistic photography one book by Wenders and another by Tarkovsky which apart from being far inferior to their film work look rather like repeats searching for filming locations of their films. It is often heard that arts are different but Art is one. Of course the arts may have a common starting point and content if nothing else simply because they have common roots in religious cults but each one always has a special identity.

Identity arising from their nature the materials and processes they adopt or even from their history. If each work of art is an Artistic Event something born with the intervention of the artistcreator it is at the same time a more special Event Painting Music Cinematic Photographic etc. that is expressed through the application of its own particular characteristics . The Polish theater photo background removing man Tadeusz Kantor has written the following Each Art has its own language that is the medium that belongs only to her. Each Art therefore is something closed to itself. Each Art is also a special life. And Tarkovsky has also said that Each art form is born and lives according to its own laws. But the photographer Robert Adams points out that The first thing to remember is that every art moves within its limits.

Attempts typical of our naive age to push back these limits did not prove to be liberating and lasting. The limits of an art may contribute to its power.
